The Lunch with Janita & Frank group met for a relaxed and informal online gathering to focus on haiku poetry. The participants, hosted by Janita in South Africa, Nathalie & Cléa in South Korea, Rosii in Brazil. Brida’s resident poet, Bohumila, engages the group in a guided writing session centred around creating haikus based on provided spring-themed words. She also provides insights into the history and nature of haikus, emphasizing their simplicity, freedom within structure, and ability to capture fleeting moments. The session concludes with participants sharing their newly written poems and reflecting on the meditative and expressive quality of haiku writing, acknowledging both the challenges and the enjoyment of the process.
